New Job

My husband had an employment “issue” and after tons of praying we felt to keep scrambling to keep the job he had.  Finally it ended, after all that work and all that prayer.  After about a week of feeling sorry for ourselves my husband started looking for something completely different than we had considered before.  I guess it was just a drastic way to get us to change directions because he got hired off the very first interview he got the very first week of applying.

Help for the Lost

Struggling with a lost child here.  He’s sitting at home, miserable, half-heatedly wishing he had employment and a life, but unable to motivate himself.  We’ve been praying a lot for him, but feel helpless to do much else.  Got a phone call this morning from someone who knew him before he left for school.  They have a job opening he would be great for and they are holding it open for him in hopes that he is available.  It would be a wonderful opportunity with great pay, room and board, and would only help his stated long term plans for himself.  Chances are pretty good he will not take advantage of it, but I’m just putting it out there as proof that the Lord is listening, is still mindful of him and is still wanting to open doors for him.  We always need to do our part to walk through those open doors.

Get a Job

This news is about a week old, but my husband finally got a part time job.  After looking for an opening he could handle for about 2 years it for sure feels like a miracle.  He had given up looking a long time ago, and this one came open, he decided to apply, and by the next day he was hired. Such a relief.

It looks like a good fit, but it is only part time and doesn’t pay so well.  Right now something is so much better than nothing I need to just focus on being grateful for what we have.  Just saw another three music stores in town close up within the last two months, so I’m feeling for others who are looking as well and others who have given up as well.

Unexpected Opportunity

My husband got a call from the temp agency last week.  They needed a bilingual Spanish speaker for a night.  Sounds like something you would expect – a temp agency calling a Spanish speaker in for work.  Here’s the not so expected thing.  Les has been registered with this temp agency (by far the biggest in town) for several years.  This is the first time they have had work for him in over a year, and the first time they have called him in probably 6 years.  Maybe the economy is recovering?  Nah.  But they did offer him another day of work today as well.  🙂
